Council Consults on Student Houses

The impact of student houses on Hanover life in recent years is undeniable – both positive and negative.

The Council is consulting with residents on a proposal to gain more control over the issue by introducing a licensing scheme to regulate smaller houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) along with existing larger HMOs.

The consultation runs for 10 weeks and ends on 31st March. Have your say on the Council’s consultation page or call 01273 293156.

Why Not Volunteer?

Hanover-Beerfest-logo-2011

You can be a part of the best party in Hanover by offering to help out at the 2011 Beer Festival. We’re looking for all sorts of people, not just bar help.

Take a look at the volunteering form, and let us know if you’d like to join the many voluntary staff who help to make it such a success.

The sooner you get the form back to us, the more likely you are to land the job you’d most like – ideally before the August Bank Holiday (August 29th).

Try the pdf form. If the “submit” button doesn’t email it back to us you can save it and then attach it to an email to hanoverbeerfestival@gmail.com. You can also download the form as a Word document if you prefer to print it and fill it in by hand.

Can You Help?

Membership PosterIt’s that time of year again when we start thinking about all the things we want to do, and wondering who would like to help with them. Could it be you?

You might like helping to run events, helping to maintain the Hanover Centre, or helping out with more technical things like book-keeping, general management or developing policies. You might have enjoyed things like our beer festival, and want to get more involved with it. Whatever you have to offer in terms of enthusiasm, skills or time, we can find an opportunity for you.

Take a look at our Membership Poster for more details. If you can display it for us, that would be helpful too.

New Web-Hosting

We are very grateful to EZPZ Hosting, who have provided us with free web hosting because we are a charity.

We are looking forward to taking advantage of the improved service they offer, having outgrown the basic service of our old hosters.

It is possible that for a few days there may be some disruption to web and email access, but so far the transition has been smooth and painless with help from our new friends at EZPZ.
