The 2010 Festive Fair was a great success. There were plenty of opportunities for picking up last minute presents, lots of children got a present from Santa himself, Spots versus Stripes got us all playing games, and Hanover Christmas Trees did brisk business in the garden.

An hour before we open the gates our sponsors can join us for an exclusive tasting of the beers on offer. Despite the rain, many of them turned out and enjoyed the beers and a bit of local networking.

The beers arrived on Wednesday, and then the weather got worse. By the opening night (Friday, 1st October) we had torrential rain and stormy winds – the wettest weekend of the year had begun. Maybe the bad weather made everyone even more determined to have fun.

On Saturday 2nd October we had a family fun session in the beer festival tent. Parents could sample the beers, but the focus was on activities for children with food and soft drinks.

Brighton Books publish ‘Hilly Laine to Hanover’ – a history of Hanover from green fields topped by windmills to the present day.

Archers still sell the best meat in Brighton, and no doubt plans for outings are still hatched in the Napier. Copies are available from Brighton Books or the Hanover Centre.

The Brown Stripes are famous throughout the whole of Hanover for their infectious but irreverent gigs.

This time they added French aristocratic elegance to their scurrilous take on all your favourite songs.

We held the 22nd Annual Hanover Beer Festival at the Hanover Centre in September 2009.

We held a Festive Fair in the Hanover Centre in December 2009. Indoors we had a variety of stalls and a café. Outdoor attractions included the Hanover Christmas Tree Company, the Muesli Mountain food market and hot chestnuts.
