At the heart of Hanover

3. Draught Excluder and Door Closer

Hanover Centre logoDraught-proofing is one of the cheapest ways to save energy – along with closing the door!  Saving warm air means we use less energy to heat each room in use. Reducing drafts allows a lower temperature without sacrificing comfort. Without draft-proofing 20% of our heat would be lost.

What have we done here?

This and all other doors in the Hanover Centre have been draught-proofed by volunteers using funds secured from the LEAF funding (via collaboration with Brighton 10:10). These ‘easy’ to achieve insulation measures were supported by the give-away of 120 Energy Saving Packs to local Hanover residents; along with 50 detailed energy audits for local people. Check out the videos covering each easy-to-achieve measure in the Energy Saving Packs.
